Abstract Artwork

I've recently been awarded a grant from the George Sugarman Foundation.  This grant is for a painting project based on mandala meditation, color vibration and dream imagery.

My heartfelt thanks goes to the Foundation, and I am looking forward to spending snowy winter nights with a hot cup of chocolate, and my paint and canvas.

Sketch book drawings as well as samples will be scanned in soon.  I am currently seeking holistic art centers and galleries that would be interested in exhibiting my artwork.

Title:  Psyche's Attempt
Pearlescent Acrylic on Canvas Paper

Dream Mandala in Gold and Green
The upper half represents the active conscious.
Gold evoke the feelings of harvest time. There is a certain happiness that the crops have ripened, but sadness about passing of the excitement of the growing season. A bittersweet grieving process that is natural of the passing of familiar ways, representing the completion of the project and fulfillment of obligations.

The lower half the unconscious
Green evokes feelings of spring, abundance, the rebirth of cyclical renewal of the natural world with dies and is reborn in the spring. Knowing one’s own heart. Early stages of development. Three green squares in unconscious suggest vitality, energy and motion while processing a resolution due to impasse by the creation of trying something new. The middle is the threshold between conscious and unconscious contents. Autumnal sunrise / sunset colors

The t
op rectangle is a bit more solid, bottom-heavy, while the other bottom half indicate something that is growing and reaching.

The four-sided object is the regulation of harmony in ones psychic life, the psyche’s attempt to balance things.

Title:  The Dream Turtle
Pearlescent Acrylic on Canvas Paper

Mandala Dream Turtle
The Dream Turtle
This painting was for the Motivated Art Group themed assignment "turtle".

My associations with the turtle:
when the pace is to fast the turtle reminds us to slow down and go with the flow,

wears its home on its back,

a respect for water and land,

can retreat into a protective shell if threatened or attacked.
